Miron Schmückle was born in 1966 in Sibiu, Romania. He emigrated to Germany in 1988 and studied from 1991 to 1996 at the Muthesius Art Academy in Kiel in the experimental painting class with Professor Renate Anger and in 1994 at the HFBK Hamburg in the performance class with Marina Abramovic. He then took up a teaching position at the Saint Petersburg Theater Academy. In 1997 he moved into his first studio in Hamburg. He has lived and worked in Berlin since 2008. With a study on Joris Hoefnagel's (1542-1600) cabinet miniatures, he received his doctorate in 2016 at the Institute for Art Studies at the Muthesius Art Academy in Kiel.
Preoccupation with natural studies of flora and fauna form the starting point for his work in painting and photography. Miron Schmückle's works have been shown in numerous solo and group exhibitions in Germany and abroad and are in several public and private art collections.
